Happy New Year world! 2002 will be a well balanced year - just look at the positioning of the numbers :)
My resolution this year is to have presence and to be more open for expansion. There have been way too many times when I have not always been completely "there" in particular situations, like while working on a project or just being in a conversation. I know it may sound kind of weird, but I really hate it when I can sense that someone is not completely engaged in a conversation with me - isn't that annoying? What's the point then, right?
Also, some of my goals this year is to finally graduate!!! And to start playing my bass and making music. Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year.

(((Virtual Om))) and :::Larry Carlson's Website::: | This is some really crazy stuff. Some of it actually scares me. I am brainstorming for my final class project for my mystical consciousness class and I came across a couple of these sites. But I think these are a little too drug inspired - totally not what I want to get across on my piece. I would like my piece to calm the senses, not fuck with them :) But check these sites out - they're a trip.

Alright! Here's my quote of the day - "Our commitment to vulnerability, in a sublime paradox, is what renders us truly invincible". It's from the book I am currently reading called "Unconditional Bliss" by Howard Raphael Cushnir. I know it may seem like one of those new age self-help books, but it really makes a lot of sense and it is really easy reading. Actually, I seem to be reading a lot of those self help books these days, but not by choice! Most of them are required readings for my classes this semester. Anyway, just thought I'd share that quote today.

To all Columbia students and alumni - please check out this site that my friend is maintaining. It is an online community about [9.11.01]. I am not sure if it is open to the rest of the public, but I don't see why it shouldn't be. I just feel that sometimes, especially in this country, we get so caught up with the usual routines and we forget about things, really important things. And sometimes what the media feeds us is a load of crap. This is a good site to interact with other students (or whomever) about what's on their minds regarding the current state our country, and the rest of the world is in. It is also a good site for accessing info about the war that is not too candy-coated or one-sided.
I saw the preview for Queen of the Damned on Christmas day. It looked rather promising. I admit I am a coven boy - I've read almost all of Anne Rice's novels. I even went to her coven party in New Orleans a few years ago. Queen of the Damned is the third book from the Vampire Chronicles. I'd have to say that it was my favorite one out of all of them. Can't wait to see Aaliyah as Akasha! It's sort of weird in a way - that this was Aaliyah's final film before her death.

I saw .::Amelie::. for the THIRD time last night. There are a lot of promising movies that look good out there, but I have this Amelie fix going on. For those of you who haven't seen it, I recommend that you do. I have never seen Paris shot so beautifully in any other film. The French have such great concepts for cinema.
